My name is Karl Hostetler, and I was a general contractor. That occupation ended abruptly one night in February 2021.
I am a man who is loved by God, and he is sending me on a journey through a stroke. (ABI, acquired brain injury) Actually, that is not what is happening. He is not sending me; he is asking me to go along with him. Wow, I guess that is pretty profound.
I am a man who had a severe stroke. My left cardioid artery is no more, completely blocked from the top of the neck to the middle of the brain. Wow, again, I guess that is profound as well. Not sure how I walked away from that. I think I am a miracle.
I started this Blog for a couple of reasons. For one, I am doing this for therapy. One thing that was lost in my stroke was my ability to write. I am working on that, trying to write something every day and hoping to post something every week. We will see how that goes.
But the main reason I am doing this is because I think I have something to say. My hope is that it might mean something for some of you. If nothing else, it means a lot to me.
One year after my stroke, I have just begun to write about what has been happening to me. I am planning to do this for one year. My first post was on January 1, 2022. You are welcome to tag along.
